CPD courses will cover the following broad topic areas:

  • Legislation, Impact Assessment and Mitigation:

We will be running courses on: Habitats Regulations and Appropriate Assessment; Ecological Impact Assessment; wildlife and habitat legislation; and sustainable development.

  • Protected Species:

We will be running courses on: bats; badgers; dormice; otters; water voles; birds; great crested newts; reptiles; crayfish; terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates. 

  • Plants and Habitats:

We will be running courses on: phase 1 and botanical surveys; wildflower identification; grass identification; and habitat creation and restoration schemes.

To complete the Postgrad Certificate in Applied Ecology for Professionals (subject to validation), one of two 15 credit elective modules offered by the RAC must be completed. These are Applied Leadership Skills or Improving Personal Professional Practice.
